Mixed Media Art Tag with Kathryn Cruise

LuluArt profile picHello again

I trust you all had a fabulous Easter. I know I really enjoyed my time away from work and spending some quality time with my family.

I made a mixed media tag for this months project and really enjoyed working small for a change. Although, I have worked on tags before it has been a while. To me these are like doing a mini art journal page and as always there are no rules as to what you can and can’t do. I hope you enjoy watching my video and I would love to hear what you think and if I inspired you what did you do with that inspiration.

Last month I had one lovely lady share with me her Dylusions journal cover which she did after watching my video. It was really great to see what she did and I love that she shared it with me.

Have some messy fun 🙂

If Birds Could Talk – a tag booklet by Robyn Wood

RobynHello, it’s Robyn with you today sharing a sweet mixed media tag book.  One again my project features stamps by Dina Wakley, did you notice Dina will be visiting us at Lulu Art in November 2015? Check our website and Facebook page for details. Book in quickly as places are sure to fill fast!

Summer in Australia is filled with strong colours, high heat and the ever present birdlife. I live in suburbia, close to a capitol city but birds are everywhere. We are often woken by the dawn chorus of parrots discovering a new shrub or tree in flower and during walks around the neighbourhood it is unusual if you don’t spot a handful of different species of birds. I often wonder what they are squawking about – are they delighting in the freedom of flight, laughing at the Earth bound humans or discussing something meaningful.

Breathe – Bloom Girl Tag by Karen Knight

Karen_picHope you have all had a wonderful week.
Karen here with you again today to share with you a very quick , but fun distress marker coloured tag.  I fell in love with these Bloom Girls stamps, so I thought I would have a play with them this month. The stamps are great quality and are around the 4×6 inch size.  They produce a lovely image and are perfect for those of us who just want to run the other way when someone mentions drawing.. I’m sure I’m not the only one!

I can not colour to save my life.. but that is the beauty of Art.. nothing is wrong or right, and sometimes its best to just sit down, take a deep breath and jump right on in… plus colouring with Distress makers is a whole lot of fun!!    I hope you enjoy watching my little video.

Its a great way to use up all those bits of paper you have hiding in your stash.. yes admit it.. we all have it! I used some paper as well as some elements from the Tim Holtz Ephemera pack.. these are great for collage along with Remnant rubs, along with a whole lot of distress! This tag is basically me in a nut shell.. Grungy, vintage, collaged yumminess!!

So remember to Believe in your Journey, have fun and enjoy!!

Thank so much for stopping by to visit today.. I hope I’ve inspired you a little bit to have a play and spend a little time layering and modge poding!

You Are Enough by Karen Knight

Hi guys,

Karen with you again, and another tag to share with you today. I  fell in love with the Dina Wakley stamps the minute I saw them,  I absolutely love the look of the scribbled ladies, but I tend to struggle a little when I try to create things that have been done with complete creative abandon, so I knew sooner or later they would end up on a tag, and here it is.

I’ve teamed them up with another favourite – Distress paints, I juts love how fluid these are and how well they mix with a little spritz of water!

Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you are all having a wonderfully creative week!
