Colour Me Positive

Colour Me Positive – Week 50

cmp_banner_wk50

This week’s quote is all about the importance of not COMPETING or COMPARING yourself to others.

We are all unique individuals and have so many different qualities. Same goes with our creative practice. We are all at different places of our own journeys, so it is crazy to compare yourself or your work to anyone else’s, not to mention how toxic this can be to your confidence and your flow of creativity. Imagine if we all created the same as each other and did it so perfectly. How boring would that be? Our imperfections and differences are what make us interesting. I would choose interesting over perfect every time. So Bloom I say, Bloom.

Just a reminder that there is only 2 weeks left of the challenge, but we will continue on into 2017. I do plan on adding a few more humourous quotes into the challenge, as I believe laughter can truly change your day. I hope you all don’t mind that.

Week 50 Challenge Prize:

This weeks prize is a surprise collage pack for the lucky winner. (I’m still waiting for stock and goodies to arrive for the store)

We will draw a random name on Friday 16th December from those who have uploaded into the Week 50 folder by that date. So you have two weeks to complete the challenge.

Entry is open to everyone who participates, no matter where in the world you are. It’s not a game of skill, you won’t be judged on your artwork. It will be a random draw.

Week 48 Prize Draw:

Now it’s time to draw a name from the photos loaded up into the Week 48 photo album. Today’s lucky winner is Laurie Maxwell. Congratulations Laurie. This is the lovely page that Laurie created.15250948_10207965072830331_9068255188297379332_o

Lulu Art News:

I’m still waiting for stock to arrive. Although I have had some stock arrive, it is no where enough to re-open the store just yet. It’s a shame as I was hoping to be open for anyone who wanted to do some Christmas shopping. My fingers are still crossed.

If there is anything you would like to see in my store or something that you think most people would love, please let me know either by commenting on this post or emailing me at admin@luluart.com.au. Thank you so very much.

Please PM or email me if you have an urgent question as I’m more likely to see it. The facebook page moves so fast it’s so easy to miss comments.

Happy Blooming.

Hugs,

I Am Grateful – a Journal Page by Monika Dabrowska-Ejmont

MonikaIt’s the end of the year already!  Really?!!  It snuck up on me! Too fast! Too quick! So much happened this year, so much changed! I learnt a lot, I pushed my boundaries a few times and I grew from it 🙂 I acquired lots of new art supplies too :), one new kitten 🙂 and I made new friends.

Did I make time to stop and reflect about it? To be thankful for what I have in my life? To cherish all the beautiful people in my life?  Not always, not everyday!  But I am trying to make it in to a good habit because it keeps me focused, keeps me sane, reminds me to be happy now!

Art keeps me sane and happy too, so I thought – why not combine both and create myself a reminder of how amazing life really is 🙂  I have sooooo much to be grateful for every day, month, year!

Grateful_Dec2014

For me my Journal is a perfect place for it as I am spending lots of time flicking through it, playing, writing in it.
Maybe it is something you would like to do too ?

Baby Dragon by Monika Dabrowska-Ejmont

BabyDragonpic

Yes! For sure! My life is so much more interesting inside my head!

I can be a princess every day of the week! Or the month or the year! Or I can be the evil Witch…for some of the time 🙂

Dragons, kittens, puppies, fairies, angels, butterflies, bit naughty children and bit ugly trolls are peacefully existing together , we are having fun, we are going on adventures! Goodness me! The stories I can make up inside my head!!!  And the colours of it!

I wish you could come and visit me there sometimes :)… Maybe one day … So this journal page is like a postcard I am sending to you from there.

Vintage Soul by Robyn Wood

Robyn‘She was a modern woman with a vintage soul – she came from a different time’

Hello, it’s Robyn with you today sharing how to create a colourful She Art canvas using a bunch of mixed media techniques.  This canvas is inspired by the She Art of Christy Tomlinson, although I hate to admit that I’ve had the girl stamp sitting in my stash for far too long. I suppose she was just waiting for the perfect project to make an appearance in!

As part of this project, I’m also sharing how I use a technique of free journaling – trying to make a phrase out of a few interesting words. Each time I try this technique I come up with a different phrase – what will yours be?

If you do happen to create your own She Art style canvas, I’d love you to share a pic to the LuLu Art & Friends Facebook page.

Seeking the True Treasure by Monika Dabrowska-Ejmont

MonikaShe is like the cloud of shimmering beauty drifting in the depths of the ocean.

She is the seeker!   She is curious!   She is determined!

She is fragile looking, translucent and dreamy but strong at the same time!

That is how, I think, my story would start… and I am sure she would meet a sweet underwater kitty somewhere along the way.

Who knows maybe she can be my friend?

Today while I write this, the whole rain thing is making my mind float away to nice places .  Or maybe it’s just this yummy blue Celedon Silks acrylic glaze that has me inspired?!

Soooo ladies and gentleman! Here she is and she is ” Seeking the true treasures”.
