Colour Me Positive – Week 30

Welcome to week 30. My apologies for week 30 being a week late. I hope the week off gave you time to catch up.

Wk30-Girl Crown

Sometimes life throws you a curve ball or two, or maybe more and can stop you dead in your tracks. You may have even seen it coming.  It could also decide to sneak up behind you, when you least expect it and totally blindside you, knocking you off of your horse (so to speak).

Maybe it’s a wake up call, telling you to stop and reassess. Reassess your job, family, friends, your relationships, habits, or way of life in general. It could be anything that you’ve been ignoring, neglecting or simply is not serving you and needs addressing right now. Maybe it’s a situation you’ve been pretending isn’t happening, for all these years, telling yourself that this way is best for everyone. But is it really? Is it best for you?

It could be a warning of sorts. Is the Universe trying tell you something? Maybe the Universe has been trying to tell you something, but for some reason you’re not listening. Sometimes it takes major curve balls to smack you along side your head to get you to pay attention.

Maybe it’s simply a message that needs to be heard. A message to remind you to start really living, To take a chance, to create a life that makes you happy. Life is certainly too short to spend it being miserable.

Imagine your life is a novel. What would you like the rest of the book to look like?  What changes need to be made to get you there?

So yes, I have fallen off of my horse due to a few curve balls and am still attending my wounds. I will eventually get back up on that horse. So please bare with me while I adjust my saddle. My apologies again for missing a week.

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week. I want you to go out into nature to create. Even if it’s just a quick sketch or a jotting down of ideas. Spend some time alone, outside, enjoying the weather. Sketch it all out in graphite first. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes scribble it down and you can make corrections later.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Welcome to Week 29.

Colour Me Positive – Week 27

Welcome to Week 27. This week is all about The One You Love.

couple-260899_960_720

Wouldn’t life be sooooo much easier if everyone had that special someone in their life. Someone whose presence made you feel safe, calm, loved and at peace. Your Solace. Someone that loves every part of you, the good, the bad and the weird. Someone who listens with great interest, supports your dreams, treats you like the most important person in their life, respects you, believes in you, showers you with cuddles and loves being with you. Someone who makes you feel special.

So my friends, this is what I truly wish for you. May you have someone in your life that makes your life brighter. Someone that makes the expression ‘coming home’ be about being with them.

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week I want you to include a home/house in your work. Try and include images or text that represent all the things you would love to see in the person you love.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Colour Me Positive – Week 26

Welcome to Week 26. This week is all about Learning New Things.

LearnSomethingNew-LuluArt

When was the last time you learnt something new? What have you always wanted to try, but never made the time to do it?

‘If you keep doing things the same way you always have, you will easily fall into a rut. To feed your creativity, you have to step out and try new things. Satisfy your thirst for something different and reap the rewards. Such as:

Increased confidence – Going out on a limb to try something new takes confidence. Showing yourself that you have what it takes will only make you feel better about yourself. You will surprise yourself and realize the potential you’ve held all along.

Appreciation for yourself – Do you really appreciate yourself for all you do and are capable of doing? Trying a new thing, whether it’s a new look, a new hobby, or a new motto, will help you to appreciate what you’re really made of. Self-love is incredibly important.

Learning a new skill – Many times the thing you’ll be interested in trying involves learning a new skill. You may be afraid of failing, but don’t let that stop you. With practice and persistence, you will gain a cool new skill or hobby to add to your repertoire. It’s a good feeling and a greater asset.

Helps you break out of a rut – A great way to break you out of your mundane routine is to do something you’ve never done before, or try something you’ve never tried. Wake your brain up and tell it that you’re not just here to go through the motions. You’re here for a purpose!

Helps you to see value around you – Sometimes a little bit of perspective is all we might need to gain a great appreciation and sense of value for the things around us. Things like everyday life, time with our kids, friendship, and interacting with new people all seem completely new and revived when you go out on a limb in another area of your life.’

Quoted from www.beliefnet.com

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week use a brand new item/product in your artwork. Play and experiment with this item/s and learn the pros and cons of using it. It’s all about learning something new.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Colour Me Positive – Week 25

Welcome to Week 25. This week is all about Staying Grounded.

Wk 25 - Eyes on the Stars.png

In keeping with the theme of stars, like in Dani Choate’s tutorial this week, I thought this quote was appropriate.

Like all quotes, this week’s quote can mean different things to different people. To me this quote is referring to achieving greatness in your life, all the while keeping yourself grounded and humble. I’d love to hear different interpretations of this quote. What does it mean to you?

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week I want you to use stars in your work. Collage them, draw them, paint them, stamp them, stencil them, sew them or any other way you can incorporate them into your work. Why not try a combination of ways?

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Colour Me Positive – Week 24

Welcome to week 23. This week is all about COFFEE……..naaa, actually it’s about What Soothes Your Soul.

Coffee Soothes.png

I am a BIG coffee drinker, but if Tea or Hot Chocolate is your beverage of choice, then replace the word ‘coffee’. This is all about what beverage you drink that makes you relax just that little bit. Particularly the very first sip, of your very first coffee of the day. You know what I mean, the one that makes you close your eyes and say to yourself ‘Ahhhhhhhh’. It’s even better if the house is silent and everyone else is still sleeping, but hey, you take it when you can get it, right?

What soothes your soul? Is it a hot drink, a glass of wine (preferably not first thing in the morning…lol), doing yoga, going for a walk, meditating, watching your kids play nicely together, while you sit back and watch without them knowing, gardening, stretching, painting, drawing, etc?

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week I want you to Do something that soothes your soul EVERYDAY. This can be as small as a hot drink or as big as you can dream up. Do something that takes you to your happy place or makes your mind say ‘Ahhhhhh’. You’re worth it.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.
