Colour Me Positive – Week 17

Welcome to Week 17.

OldWaysNewDoors

I find it odd that people tend to do something over and over again, exactly the same way, hoping to get a different result and wonder why the results are the same. I’ve been guilty of doing this. Have you? This week try doing something differently, if you’re wanting a different result. Good luck.

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week. Add text to your door. Write down all the things you could do differently to help you open the door you’re currently have your eye on.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Mixed Media Altered Jewelry Box

Hiya again! Idiana here from Idiana’s Creations with an altered jewelry box project this time.

Original Jewelry Box

This little box I found at my favorite local thrift store (I know we all love to find great deals and be thrifty!). It looked like someone had already repainted it but did not do a great job and for some reason added a cheap plastic “pearl” on one of the knobs. But that didn’t stop me from making the transformation.

Here are some more close ups and a full video tutorial below with the complete supply list that you can get at Lulu Art Supply Store.

Colour Me positive – Week 15

Welcome to Week 15. This week is all about BALANCE. With the Easter long weekend here, I thought this message was very appropriate.

Balance

I don’t know about you, but I can not sit and do nothing. I can’t even watch T.V without art journaling at the same time. I always have a million things that need to be done.  Whether it be the hundreds of ideas in my head that I want to bring to fruition, or the household chores that are calling out to be done or my art business and customers that need my attention or the gazillion things you do for your family, especially as a Mum.

However, everyone needs to stop, relax and unwind every once in a while. It’s essential. You’re no good to anyone if all you do is go, go, go, all of the time. Burnout usually follows if you don’t allow yourself the time to relax, unwind, reset, chill out, de-stress, clear your mind, refocus, etc.

So take the time this long Easter weekend to step back from the hustle and bustle of your daily life and rest up. The world will not come crashing down if you stop for a breath. If you can’t do it for yourself, do it for the people around you.

I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing, but very creative Easter long weekend.

Extra Challenge:

For an extra challenge this week. Why not write a list of all the things that you do or that need to be done and prioritise them, so that when life goes back to normal, after this long weekend, you are in a better, more organised state to begin again from.

Try using this list as collaged pieces in your background or write them straight onto your journal page.

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.

Hi everyone, rockmelon recycled here. Every day is a great day to create.  Todays tutorial is exploring stamping, stencils and finger painting.  We are never too old to finger paint, and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite techniques.  This tutorial is suitable for beginners through to advanced artists, so grab an apron and some paints.

Colour Me Positive – Week 14

Welcome to Week 14. This week’s quote is about Never Giving Up.

NeverGiveUp-LuluArt

I think this quote is self explanatory. No matter what you’re going through, no matter where you are, no matter how desperate the situation may feel, NEVER GIVE UP.

What seems to help me is reminding myself that things could ALWAYS be worse. There is also something to learn from every situation, even if it’s too painful or difficult to see at the time.

There is ALWAYS a silver lining, but unfortunately it’s only during reflection, which can even be years later, are we able to see it. If you can’t see it, then you may need to change your perspective. It reminds me of the saying ‘Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. This is so true.

Never give up!!!!!

If you have any suggestions on how you would like to see this challenge develop, please don’t hesitate to let me know either by commenting on this post or emailing me at admin@luluart.com.au.

Extra Challenge:

For those of you who would like daily or alternative prompts, I have prepared a Daily Journal Prompt List. You can find it in the Facebook Group under Files.
