Colour Me Positive – Week 40

cmp_banner_wk40

This weeks quote is reminding us that our FUTURE is bright! Really, there is no reason our future can’t be bright especially if we start seeing it as that right now!

cmp_wk40

Feeling fear and anxiety toward our future comes from neglecting our present and holding onto our past—so in order to enjoy our future, we must start enjoying our present. Right now! There is so much to celebrate. Look for the good in everything. Be grateful for things and people around you. There is always something to feel grateful about even if it’s something small. Start there.

wk40_lisaBe happy now. Don’t let anyone or anything dim your inner light.

This is another quote that I love that I felt was relevant this week. “Accept, then act. Whatever the present moment contains, embrace it as if you had chosen it. This will miraculously change your whole life.” ~Eckhart Tolle

Our future is completely open and we’re writing it moment by moment. What will you write?

I have to admit this weeks quote keeps reminding me of this catchy song from the 80’s haha – Future So Bright by Timbuk 3

The picture on the right is a canvas on my wall that I created in a class with the lovely Denise Daffara. I look at this often as a reminder that my future is bright!

Colour Me Positive – Week 39

cmp_banner_wk39

This week our quote is all about HOME. We have talked about travel and exploring in previous weeks but there is so much to love about where we live. We can travel all around the world but there is nothing like coming home as it is so much more than just a place .. it’s a feeling! It’s the place where you hang your hat and it’s where your heart is .. so the sayings go 🙂

No matter what place you call home, the very word strikes a chord deep inside each of us. Home means sanctuary, the place we can rest, relax, enjoy time with friends, learn, grow … and just be.

cmp_wk39

Our extra (optional) journal prompt is:

Where do you call home? Write this somewhere on your page.

So following on from this I thought I’d share some photos of the place I call home.  These were taken only yesterday by a friend out walking around our beautiful beaches of Noosa. The first two are the beautiful Alexandria Bay (an hours walk away through the Noosa National Park) and the third photo is our busy beach at Noosa Heads. What a beautiful spring day for our holiday makers and locals to enjoy. It’s very busy here this week as it is school holiday time.

Colour Me Positive – Week 37

CMP_Banner_Wk37.jpg

Welcome to Week 37 of our challenge. The year is flying by so fast! This week is all about CHANGE and how important it is in our lives.  There is a lot of change happening in my life right now and I find it both daunting and exciting at the same time!

We are often resistant to change, but it’s far better to have an open mind to it so we are not taken by surprise and better still for us to realise that if we want our lives to improve then we should actively make changes.

We all have things in our lives we’d like to improve – it might be finances, career, relationships, house, etc. All of us know that nothing will improve by itself. We need to do things differently to make that happen. One never knows what each change may bring. When you turn from your usual path there will be plenty of different opportunities waiting for you. Changes will bring new opportunities for happiness and fulfilment.

What will you change today?

cmp_wk37

Our extra (optional) journal prompt is:

Write something on your page that you would like to change.

This weeks inspiration:

This is a page I’ve created in my journal based around change and contemplation of the future.

Colour Me Positive – Week 36

CMP_Banner_Wk36

This week my mind has been drifting to TRAVEL as I’ve chatted with a few friends who have either been overseas this month or have been reminiscing about previous trips.

It stirs up something inside me as I find travel to be exhilarating and truly wonderful and it definitely lights a fire inside me. It made me really sit back and think about why I love it and how it fuels my soul.

I find when you get out of your comfort zone and immerse yourself into cultures different from your own, you seem to strengthen your own personal identity, including your values and beliefs, and increase your confidence in how you go about your everyday life. It can broaden your perspectives, not only of the world but also of yourself.

Travel also offers great opportunities to meet new people that you otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to connect with. You engage with the locals, other travellers, making new social connections, or deepening the ones you already have.

Travel makes you step out of your comfort zone. It teaches you to embrace change and accept uncertainty. Who knows what’s around the next corner! But most importantly I think it teaches you to live in the now!

CMP_Wk36

I’m sure I have a gypsy soul .. I have always yearned to explore and travel and have done so at every opportunity and relished every moment. I don’t think I will ever stop wanting that in my life.  Here’s to many more adventures!

This weeks inspiration:

Below is a travel journal I made on a trip with my son and my parents to Greece. I attended an art retreat on the island of Mykonos and the journal was one of our classes over the week (with the lovely Ali Edwards). So much fun collecting bits and pieces while we were travelling and popping them in the journal amongst the photos and notes. I love looking back through and seeing those reminders of special moments.  I encourage anyone who is going on a special trip to keep a journal of sorts .. even if it’s just remembering to collect things along the way and keeping notes so you can put it together when you get home.

TravelJournal.jpg

I also found this great video on YouTube that I thought you might like watch. I love the way this lady has documented her trip!

There are lots of great videos out there for inspiration. Just get on YouTube and do a search for travel journals and you will be tied to the screen for hours so make sure you have you are comfy and have your cuppa ready!
