Hi everyone .. Kathryn here!
For this project I decided to make some of my own stamps. I recently watched a video by CeeCee from Creationsceecee wherein she said that she had to pull down some of her favourite and most popular art pieces from her Society 6 store as she had used stamps/stencils that didn’t have an angel policy that allowed for mass production of artwork where their products were used.
This got me to thinking that it makes it really difficult as an artist to then want to be able to sell prints or other forms of copies of your art work without having to remember exactly which stamps or stencils you can use. So why not make our own?
I was actually really excited at the possibilities of what stamps I could make and once I got started I found it super addictive and insanely cheap when you consider how much some rubber stamps are these days. I ended up with quite a few stamps and still have about 1/3 of my Speedy Carve left. I have to say it was so much easier than I thought it would be. I would say my favourite out of all of them was the feather and will definitely be making more feathers and other stamps again.
I’m not saying I won’t continue to use or buy any more stamps but I now know that at least with the stamps I make I can use them where ever I like and not have to worry about an angel policy.
So I hope that you like my video and would absolutely love to see some that you make.
