Today’s quote was shared with us by Mimi Bondi (see more about Mimi below) and is about being PLAYFUL. As a child we are imaginative, curious, we play without worry, we live in the present, we have no limits to our imagination and most importantly we create with abandon!
As we grow up, in most cases, we seem to lose this childlike sense of life which is such a shame. Especially when it comes to our creativity.
We should spend more time trying to regain these qualities. Create like a child. Be wild and have fun. Be curious like a child. Live in the moment. Just do, and be.
Our extra (optional) journal prompt is:
Use circles somewhere on your page.

This weeks inspiration:
Our inspiration page below is by Mimi Bondi whom you will read some more about below as she is our feature artist this week. Mimi has also shared a link to a video (link below photo) where you can watch her create this page which is titled “My Playground”.

Mimi is the author of the wonderful book called “No Shenanigans! mixed media painting”. This is a hot favourite in our store (my Aussie customers can purchase it here!) and no wonder as it is full of wonderful fun and colour.
Tell us a bit about yourself …
I am a Positive Energy Creator! Life is too short so cover your fingers in paint and let loose 😉
As an artist, teacher and author, nothing brings me more joy than when people feel the positivity, love and passion I put into every piece I create… I am here to help you explore your creative positive energy through online workshops, my book and e-course because I know you too have that amazing vibe inside you!
With hundreds of paintings hanging in homes around the world, I think can tell just by looking at it that my art reflects my passion for life and love for vibrant colours.
I believe in making art easy and fun to learn, and my light-hearted teaching style will have you wondering why you didn’t try your hand at painting sooner!
Born in a small vibrant town in France, I now feel lucky to call sunny Australia home where my loving and patient husband (and slightly crazy furry friend Poppy) ensure I will never lose my creative spark!
What is your favourite inspirational quote?
My favourite quote is …”Live like a grownup, play like a child.”
What inspires you?
I am so inspired and energised by bright and bold colours, metallic paint, stencils, stamps and anything that allows me to play and express myself creatively!
But my students’ enthusiastic feedback is what keeps me going as there is nothing more inspirational that knowing you have positively impacted someone’s life 🙂

Week 9 Challenge Prize:
Mimi has very generously donated an 8″x 12″ print of her Pretty Birdy painting.
We will draw a random name on Friday 11th March from those who have uploaded into the Week 9 folder by that date. So you have two weeks to complete the challenge.
Entry is open to everyone who participates, no matter where in the world you are. It’s not a game of skill, you won’t be judged on your artwork. It will be a random draw.
Week 7 Prize Draw:
Now it’s time to draw a name from the photos loaded up into the Week 7 photo album. Today’s lucky winner is … Renee Stien. Congratulations Renee. This is the page that Renee created about living with all your heart.
Please remember:
It’s ok to skip a week and jump in wherever you can. Don’t feel pressured if life gets busy!
Don’t compare yourself to others. We’re all in different stages of our art journey. You’re an artist and you’re amazing no matter what level you’re at. Just have fun and keep going.
Please PM or email me if you have an urgent question as I’m more likely to see it. The facebook page moves so fast it’s so easy to miss comments.
Have fun, be happy and support one another!
I am loving your Weeks of Color Me Positive!! Thank you for so much inspiration.

Hi Nicole, You can jump in whenever you want. We post a new quote every Friday morning (Qld, Aust time) and you have two weeks to complete a page and load it up on our facebook album for that week if you want to be in the prize draw. If you’re not worried about the draw you can take your time and do the challenges whenever you want 🙂
