It has turned blustery and cold in Brisbane this week – Winter is here at last, but my Instagram feed reassures me that it is Summertime elsewhere in the world! I’ve created a textured art journal page to share with you today that uses lots of lovely texture, found words and a bird or two.
Molding Paste is perfect for adding texture to a journal page – it goes on like butter or thick icing and a thin layer is light enough for a small journal. Check out how I created the texture using an old, plastic spoon.
My page also features found words which were cut from one of the free magazines which are abundant in my city. I find the non-specific, fashion and event style magazines are the best for a good variety of words. I started searching with no plan in mind after I had the basic texture and trees done and just let the words jump out at me. Soon enough I had a theme and a title! It is a fun way of creating journaling.
