My name is Kooky and I’m really excited to be part of the design team for Lulu Art. I also feel very grateful & humbled to have the opportunity to share some of the joy I find in creating with all of you.
The piece I’m sharing with you today is something I’ve created for my 4 year old son – I live by the beach so he’s already really into the ocean and swimming and I figure surfing isn’t far away. I think it would be great in any boy’s bedroom and also in any surf lovers home. With its bright and cheerful colours I hope it makes an eye catching piece.
If you’d like to find out how to create this triptych of paintings please watch the video below. It’s the first I’ve published and I hope there will be more. 🙂
- Canvas Board – 8” x 16”
- 3 x Canvas Boards – 4” x 6”
- Acrylic craft paints – Americana and Ceramcoat
- Dylusions spray ink – White Linen
- Watercolours – Koi
- Washi tape
- Patterned paper
- Tissue paper
- Old ledger/atlas/music/book paper
- Stencils (Crafters Workshop) or punchinella/bubble wrap
- Staz On Ink
- IndigoBlu – Rubber Stamp – Crackleglaze Background
- Brushes & Palette Knife
- Matte Medium
- Foam Mounting Tape
- Modelling (Molding) Paste
You could also use this same idea of painting over 3 canvases and them separating them to do all kinds of other designs. Birds and branches, flowers and butterflies, rockets to the stars and moon all come to mind but I know you can think of more!
Thanks so much for watching – I hope this video inspires you to create your own mixed media piece. If you’re a member of the Lulu Art & Friends facebook page please don’t hesitate to share your creations there.
